Q. 1 How does solar power system work ?

Ans: The solar power system uses the PV or photovoltaic modules to convert sunlight into electric current. The electric current  generated by PV modules is DC in nature. So the DC current is converted to 220V volts AC before feeding into home. The picture below shows the conceptual diagram.

Q2. What about the night ? There is no sun during night ? Where will electricity come from during night ?

Ans. The Solar power system will store the energy in batteries, just like inverters, during day and use that energy to run the home during night.

Q3. Does it mean I will get full electricity all day without paying electricity bill ?

Ans. Yes. Once you install our system, you will have electricity all day, provided the system you bought is big enough for your needs. If your system is of good size you can run AC and other heavy appliances too.

Q4. What about cloudy days ? Or the days when there is no sun ?

Ans. The systems are sized to provide 1-2 days of extra electricity even though there is no sun. Most parts of India have more than 300 sunny days.

Q5. Does this system have any sound or smoke ?

Ans. No. This system works silently without any noise and has no fumes or smoke or any other byproduct. It is the most clean energy available on earth. Also there is no running cost. Once you buy the system you will get free electricity for at least 25 to 30 years.

Q6. How do we trust this technology ? How can we be sure that this will really work ?

Ans. Solar energy is being used extensively in westerns countries like US, Germany  and is found to be very reliable. In India also there are lots of places where solar energy is being used. You can search web about this subject. We will be using very matured and time tested components in our system to provide high quality systems. We have a plan to run field tests before delivering the technology to market.

Q7. Solar energy systems are already available in India, what is new about your company.

Ans. Solar energy, as of today,  is very-very costly in India. We will be using state of the art technology available in US, and rest of the world, to make solar energy price effective. We are already doing extensive research in US to make this energy even more economical.

Q8. How do I know what size of solar power system I need ?

Ans: Note down the number of units (KWH) you are using every day during a month when you use electricity the most. This value can help us size the solar power system you need. You can measure the units from the electricity meter in your home.

Q9: By the way what is this KWH ? What does it really mean ?

Ans: KWH or a unit stands for Kilo Watt Hour or 1000 Watt Hour. As the name suggests, it means if you run a appliance of 1000 watt for one hour, one KWH or a Unit is consumed. Another way of calculating the size of solar system you need is to count how many hours you are going to use each appliance. Few examples are given below.

1. Tube light - 40 Watt

2. TV - 300 Watt

3. Fridge - 700 Watt

4. 1 Ton AC - 1200 Watt

5. Ceiling Fan - 60 Watt

The values can change from one make to another and with size.

Now if you use TV for 3 hours the energy used = 300 x 3

                                                                       = 900 Watt-Hour or 0.9 KWH (Unit)
